The Washington Post asked Samuel Zimmerman, curator of the horror streaming service Shudder, what the scariest movies of all time are. Although he claims “it would be hard for me to say, objectively, these are the scariest movies,” the following list of horror films are “the [ones] that live in my brain.”

From the classic The Blair Witch Project (“It gives me chills just talking about it.”) to the underrated Angst (“It feels like the creators have unleashed something that they’re not even responsible for.”), Zimmerman gives us plenty to add to our spooky watchlists when we’re in need of something guaranteed to give us the creeps.
